Humans are weird. Let's talk about all of it.
For years I've written a newsletter about personal development, but from the lens of science and behavioral analysis (not some faux-idealized morning routine bullsh*t).
If you dig growth, becoming a becoming a better version of yourself, and doing the hard work that is editing your habits and adjusting who you are in real time, come join me. I’m building a newsletter here on substack about who we are and why we do what we do.
Hi, I’m Sarah K Peck. I write about the fundamentals of psychology, behavior, habits, and how weird humans are—without all the noise of faux personal development. There’s a lot of noise out there about idealized better selves and supposed best practices, but I’m interested in what *actually* works, and why. So I write about the entire picture, including the failures, mistakes, human quirks, and more.
And full disclosure: I’m not a perfect human, and those don’t exist. We’re all weird, quirky, and have imperfect operating systems. We learned funny habits and survival hacks from a young age, and now we get to look closely at who we are and test new strategies until we find something that works better (until the context changes again).
A lot of what I write about comes from personal experience: I use myself as a guinea pig to test new ways of building habits, learning, and growing. From there, I look at what authors, researchers, scientists, and experimenters have to tell us.
My writing touches on leadership, business, habits, and how to set up a life that allows for perpetual learning. I’m constantly experimenting in my own life and sharing the results in these articles, as a life out loud, as part of my own learning.
Welcome to Let's Talk: How People Work (and Why We Do The Things We Do) by me, Sarah K Peck. I’m the CEO and Founder of @Startup_Parent, a podcast host, a community builder, a conversation starter, and more than anything else, a writer.
